Gabriela Walsman Leiva.\nMi experiencia en la brigada m\u00e9dica de Itulcachi fue profundamente conmovedora, enriquecedora y emocionante. Regresar a mi querido Ecuador para servir a la comunidad me permiti\u00f3 devolver un poco de lo mucho que mi pa\u00eds me ha dado. Durante dos intensos d\u00edas, atendimos a aproximadamente 600 pacientes con la ayuda de 31 profesionales de la salud voluntarios, brindando la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, dental y psicol\u00f3gica necesaria y el apoyo a quienes m\u00e1s lo necesitaban. Adem\u00e1s, las visitas domiciliarias me dejaron una impresi\u00f3n duradera, especialmente el encuentro con un paciente con EPOC y un adolescente con s\u00edndrome de epilepsia. Las historias de estos pacientes, y en particular el amor y la dedicaci\u00f3n de la madre del adolescente, me conmovieron profundamente.\n\nEsta brigada tambi\u00e9n fue una oportunidad \u00fanica para reunirme con mis colegas, con quienes no hab\u00eda trabajado desde que nos graduamos hace 20 a\u00f1os. Celebr\u00e9 este importante aniversario de mi graduaci\u00f3n en Ecuador sirviendo a mis pacientes junto a ellos. Trabajar codo a codo con mis colegas fue un verdadero privilegio, y la camarader\u00eda y el apoyo mutuo hicieron que la experiencia fuera realmente inolvidable. Adem\u00e1s, fue mi primera brigada organizada con un grupo de profesionales, con el inestimable apoyo de mi familia en Ecuador, que siempre est\u00e1 en mi coraz\u00f3n.\nHay experiencias que nos marcan para siempre, y esta brigada en Itulcachi es una de ellas.
